My First Sales!!

I know I haven’t posted anything recently.  I really don’t know where the time goes!!  I still am learning about how to blog, so I hope you’ll continue to bare with me!

I’ve been busy flipping and even sold five pieces already!!  This was the first piece to sell, “The Hoffman.”  I sold it to my friend Annie and she even gave the task to find two chairs to go with it!  I think I have, so more to come on that!

Here I am!

Hello out there!    I never thought I would be one to start a blog.  I’ve never felt I have anything particularly interesting to say that anyone would want to follow.  But here I am!

Why am I here you ask?  Well, I’m in the process of re-inventing myself while flipping furniture.   I thought maybe, just maybe my process and experiences might be of interest to SOMEONE!!  Maybe someone will be amused, I know I often am.

So, a little bit about me and how I arrived here:  I moved to Salem, MA from Washington, D.C. about 2 1/2 years ago in order start a new chapter in my life.  I guess you could say I was in a mid-life crisis after having a TERRIBLE couple of years.  I’ve come from a life of working in museums but haven’t been able to find full time work in about 4 years, so I jokingly said I was going to completely reinvent myself and start over from scratch and become an electrician, or plumber….   LOL!   I love living in New England and have made some good friends.  I am working two part time jobs while I continue to search for full time work.     Recently I’ve picked up this new hobby of finding small pieces of ugly, unloved furniture and trying to bring new life into each piece and create something beautiful and useful.  It’s a great creative outlet which I need!!  It’s also becoming quite a learning experience in many ways.   I recently had an “AH HA” moment when I realized that as I’m re-purposing and fixing up these pieces I am in fact reinventing myself!   We’ll see where this takes me!  I hope you enjoy what I have to show and share with you, let me know what you think!

So here I am flippin’ fabulous furniture, and flippin’ myself as well!

Cheers!!

My "workshop"! Up until about two months ago, this was my guest room. I hope no one is planning visiting me soon! Don't worry, I know a good hotel if you do come see me!
